Marli Swarowsky was born in 1948 in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. She had her first artistic contact still young in the creation, modeling and printing area of her father's textille factory. From this involvement she has concluded courses to develop creativity and soon became teacher in "Casa da Cultura" (The House of Culture) of the city. In 1972 she opened the first Art Gallery of Joinville, the "Bel'Art Gallery".

Later the artist expanded her horizons with such known potters as Alice Yamamura, Célia Cymbalista, Frieda Dourian, Norma Grinberg, the sculptor Sergio Romagnolo, the spanish Angel Garraza and the North American artists Robert Pillers, Beverly Pillers and Jerry Caplan.

Marli Swarowsky made important achievements to the artistic community and to the society as president of AAPLAJ - Association of Artists from Joinville. Besides that she was part of the Art Museum Councils of Joinville, the Victor Kursancew Gallery , the Institute Luiz Henrique Schwanke and has participated of the creation of the Museum of Contemporary Art Luiz Henrique Schwanke.

Since 1973 she held solo exhibitions and has participated in collective exhibitions in several states of Brazil. In 1995 Marli Swarowsky was awarded at Salão Santos Dumont in Florianópolis - SC.
